Celebrate Banned Books Week!

Are you celebrating your freedom to read this week? This is the first year I'm really taking notice of books that have been challenged and I'm surprised which ones made the list.
Where the Wild Things Are
Promotes witchcraft.
Inappropriate language, references to drugs and alcohol, and too scary for intended audience.
Encourages messiness and disobedience.

Sexually explicit, unsuited to age group, and violence.
Offensive language, homosexuality, sexism, religious viewpoint, sexually explicit, violence, and unsuited to age group.
Drugs, offensive language, sexually explicit.
These are just a handful of the huge amount of books that have been either challenged or banned over the years. For more info and to check out the books that are in this special club, head over to The American Library Association's website!
What's your favorite "banned" book?
