Let's Get Physical

I've been in somewhat of a rut, physically. I'd like to say it started with the birth of my last son, but no, I believe I lost the energy to do anything during the pregnancy. It was a trying time and I had morning sickness pretty much every day. By the time it decreased some, I was already so huge lol. I thinks it's been almost 2 years since I've been to a gym.
 
So here I am today. I've started using the MyFitnessPal app a couple days ago, and I'm slowly trying to utilize the (tiny) gym in my apartment complex. It all makes me miss having a gym membership at a fancy gym!
 
MyFitnessPal is so helpful. I'm not sure why I'm just now discovering it. I see online that it has a huge amount of users, so I assume they've been around for quite some time now. This app allows the user to keep track of daily exercise and diet. I haven't used the feature yet, but when logging food, you can scan the package barcode and it will supposedly bring up the caloric information necessary for you to log it. I've had the luck of just typing in something and finding it in their database.
 
Another great aspect about this app is the fact that it's FREE! Lol, that helps with motivation huh? Also, on their website, you have access to online forums. There is a huge community of supporters at your disposal. There's even a place where you can upload your own recipes! I think my favorite aspect is the fact that it helps to hold myself accountable. I never paid attention to calories before, but now I'm shocked when I type in a food item! So that helps me! Users can also link their FitBit or Jawbone UP wristbands to it also. Not sure how that works but hopefully a Large Blue Jawbone UP is in my future! :P

When you initially sign up for MyFitnessPal, it will ask you about your current lifestyle and goals. Then using that information, it tells you how big (or small) your calorie intake should be. I'm an instant fan with this app. Nothing like good old diet and exercise to help you get healthier. I don't believe any of the fads out right now such as: Plexus, Omni, and body wraps. I truly believe the before and after pics they show are not exactly accurate. And they cost money! I personally recommend this app!
